Heartfelt congratulations to all the deserving recipients recognised at Whitby Collegiate's spectacular Prize Giving! As we bid a fond farewell to our incredible Class of 2023, we eagerly anticipate the return of our students, poised to reach new heights in 2024.
The evening was a true celebration, not just of academic achievements but also of remarkable successes in sports, music, arts, and culture. A standing ovation to Alexander Ritter, Dux of School, and Leon Cao, Proxime Accessit, for their outstanding academic excellence.
The announcement of the student leaders for 2024 heralds the beginning of another thrilling era of leadership. Kudos to our incoming Head Prefects Jade Lin and Liam Cuming, along with Deputy Head Prefects Charlie Bartlett, Jackson Bigwood, Aifili Masoe-Patelesio, and Ana Sexton!
A sincere thank you to our dedicated staff, the unsung heroes who serve as the backbone of our school. Gratitude extends to the Proprietor’s Board, led by Chairman John Fiso, the Advisory Board, Foundation Committee, Parents’ Association, and our 2023 Head Prefects, Ryan Field and Madeline Wareham – your outstanding leadership is truly appreciated.
Special appreciation to Hon Chris Bishop for gracing us with his presence and presenting the sports trophies, showcasing his commitment amid a bustling schedule as Minister of Sport and other portfolios. Heartfelt thanks to Anita Baker - Mayor of Porirua City and Tracy Johnson Councillor Porirua City Council for their unwavering support.
Congratulations to all our prize winners, and a special nod to the speakers and talented performers who elevated this event to greatness. The performances by the Pasifika Cultural Group, String Ensemble, Decanta Laudem (Choir), and various musical items added a magical touch to the evening.
