Enrichment Programme

At Whitby Collegiate, we are committed to identifying and supporting learners across Years 7 to 13, including students requiring extension and enrichment, those with learning differences, and twice-exceptional learners. Through inclusive, culturally responsive, and wellbeing-centred practices, we monitor students in authentic learning environments and collaborate with curriculum leaders to deliver high quality pedagogy.

Our holistic approach ensures meaningful enrichment, particularly for students identified in multiple areas of development, while maintaining transparent partnerships with whānau, staff, and governance so every learner can thrive.

Central to the Whitby Enrichment programme are Individual Action Plans, developed through triadic conversations between the student, whānau, and teachers. The Head of Learning Enhancement oversees and tracks progress for all students on the Enrichment register, while insights from the programme directly inform ongoing professional development to keep culturally responsive teaching at the forefront of our classrooms.
